I recently purchased a HP Pavilion DV6-6c35dx with Windows 7 Home installed. I did a clean install to Windows 8 Pro, 64-bit and I am having issues installing HP Support Assistant and the Beats Audio program.

It keeps telling me that I need .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0). When I click on download and install this application, it goes through the process for about 5 minutes downloading it, but then it gives me an error; the following feature could not be installed, Windows could not find the required files (error code 0x800F081F).

It was set to english.

I just re-installed Windows 8 and everything seems to be working now. Just have to go back and download everything had on it before.

Enabling the .NET Framework 3.5 in Control Panel

You can also enable the .NET Framework 3.5 yourself through Control Panel. In Control Panel, choose Programs and Features, choose Turn Windows features on or off, and then select the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 check box. This option requires an Internet connection

I have already tried turning it on through the control panel, it tries to find the required flies, download them, but it gives me the same error as if I try to download the .NET Framework 3.5 flie directly.

It seems the files were not in the Windows 8 install and it wont let me download them through windows update either.

try this :

  • Press CTRL + X
  • click on Command prompt (admin)
  • type SFC /SCANNOW
  • Let the process finish.

Nothing happens when I pressed CTRL-X, but going to the command prompt and typing SFC/SCANNOW it says must be ran by an administrator in a console session. I am a administrator on the computer, so not sure why it won't run.

I checked out the post from Andre.Ziegler, but even though I know some stuff about computers, that seems greek to me and I don't understand what it is telling me to do.

I downloaded this version of windows from my school store Dream Spark account, so wouldn't think it was a designer preview edition.
