I'm able to download every other update, but it seems the link for the 4/18 UEFI update - sp61632.exe (

v5.2.0.0) is down.  I was able to download and install the previous UEFI version.

Anybody else having this problem?  Is there a mirror or was it pulled intentionally?

I just verified the link again, the file is pretty much alive, ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp61501-62000/sp61632.exe

When requesting assistance, please provide the complete model name and/or product number of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq makes thousands of models of computers that are all different. Without this information it may be difficult or impossible to assist you in resolving your issue.

Same situation here (USA)...

HP Support Assistant flags SP61632 as recommended yet shows it as being 0KB (zero KB) in size; goes through trying to download it anyway, then goes on to try and install it; then (of course) fails the operation.

Trying to download the SP manually from the "HP ENVY dv7-7243cl Notebook PC Drivers & Downloads" website also fails, generating a 404 server error when any of the download link references for the SP are clicked (BTW, those links direct to: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp61501-62000/sp61632.exe.)

I assume either the FTP server is presently FooBar or someone failed to set the access permissions properly...

Please note that this is NOT the first time this has occurred...

Please fix it...

Kind Regards,

John

"Without this information it may be difficult or impossible to assist you in resolving your issue." No offense, but this is complete BS and you know it. A simple google search of sp61632.exe would reveal exactly what it is and what it applies to (pretty much every new Pavilion notebook). This isn't a solution to anyone's problem, and it is frankly annoying when people purporting to offer support on manufacturer forums pretend to be incapable of doing simple things like Google searches. Aside from that, my notebook model has nothing to do with a FTP issue. If you are unable to help me, please say so instead of doing the standard "delay and hope the customer goes away" tactic I see so often.

John, seems like it's a site issue then and there's nothing wrong with my DNS server or hosts file. I guess we'll just have to wait until someone decides to go and fix it.

I see that the links are (mostly) now redirecting away from the FTP site (and the 404 error) and to the top of the HP customer support tree - specifically the country select at the beginning of the sites support look-up/assist.  Of note here is the release date of April 18 of this year for this SP - that in itself is interesting since I have HP Support Assistant set to check for updates on a weekly basis, and yesterday (June 21,) was the first time SP61632 popped up as a download offering.  It may be that the HP techs realized there were issues with the update and pulled it (temporarily?) from distribution...

If it doesn't "show up" on the server within a couple of days I'll set HP Support Assistant to ignore it so that it stops showing the attention warning.

As I mentioned in my earlier post, this same situation has happened before - interestingly that occurrence was also a problem with a UEFI update SP...

Kind Regards,

John

This is not official HP Customer Support. This is a peer-to-peer user supported forum for HP consumer  products. HP maintains no official presence on this forum. It is unlikely that HP will respond in an official capacity. Any reply from a HP employee represents their own opinion and not that of HP's.

@ dd_unlimited,

I don't work for HP and therefore have no interest in "delaying you and hoping you go away." I apologize for your inability to understand and follow the basic requirements of this forum. Just because you feel the need for providing your computer's model name and/or product number is unnecessary, doesn't make it so. Without this information, you are putting up road blocks and making harder for everyone and HP to resolve this matter for you.

@ avjohnnie,

Thank you for providing the information requested. Having this information has allowed me to research the issue and bring it to HP's attention.

To all,

While I don't work for HP, it appears that there is a possible bug in sp61632.exe that affects the "keyboard" test. HP may have pulled the update until it can replicate and resolve any issues with the update.
