My laptop wont turn on with a screen or usual start up, the on light comes up, the WiFi light stays orange and the caps lock button continuously flashes till the whole thing turns off again. I have tried to hard reset it, and the issue still continues. Sometimes the fan will start the WiFi button light shows and the on button shows and then goes off again. It is on charge and has been this whole time.

Hello @NeryseS,

Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome onboard!

I am sorry for the issues you experience with your HP computer. This is probably some sort of hardware issue you experience.

Please, review this HP official article about such issues you experience now. It will guide you what the CAPS lock blinking means (identify the pattern) and will guide you what needs to be done to fix the problem

If you did try everything but nothing helped, I am afraid you will need to bring your computer (or ship it) to service - HP Authorized service center. If the computer is still under warranty, you will need to notify HP support first. If you are not sure where such a center is located, please contact HP support for assistance in finding one. Here is more info:

Hello
Please restart your system holding down F11 and the error will be fixed.
The error may be your display LCD don't work - make sure that hard disk is running once you touch you may feel a running sensation
In additional, there are much error due to motherboard problem or any of the devices is not working...

I have tried everything, and nothing at all seems to be working, the computer had important documents I needed for my A-Levels and a bunch of pictures that were also important to me, I will have to send it in.

My problem is that it isn't under warranty anymore, I need it in an emergency and my family arent well off and can't afford much to help the laptop

Did you identify the pattern of the blinking ? If yes, it should tell you exactly what it is.

If it is not a BIOS issue, most are related to hardware defect and this cannot be fixed remotely, unfortunately. Most probably your files are not lost, there are in the HDD and the HDD (hard disk drive) can be extracted and using a cable can be plugged into another PC so that you read the files.

Just so that you know for future reference - it is always recommended that you regularly back-up your files on external drive and also you may keep a second PC aside so that in case the first one crashes, you can easily get the old one out and start using it until the primary PC is fixed.
