I changed the color setting on my laptop to white so not able to see words. How do I change it? Some words are yellow. I totally messed up.  Also the backround is white.

This is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you want to adjust the brightness on your HP notebook. I would like to help you resolve this issue.

  • On the Start screen move the cursor to the upper right corner to open the Charms menu.
  • Click Settings.
  • Click Brightness.
  • Click the slider and drag it up or down to adjust the brightness of the screen.
  • If the brightness feature is not available in Settings, use HP My Display to adjust the brightness.
  • After clicking Settings in the Charms menu, if it shows Brightness as Unavailable, continue with these instruction
  • From the Start screen, type HP My Display
  • Click HP My Display.
  • Click Adjust.
  • To adjust the brightness of the screen, click and drag the slider to the desired brightness.

Click here and follow the document for more steps.

Cheers.
