My laptop is showing a charging sign but when clicked into it, it says plugged in not charging. I just bought this laptop a week ago. Itried bringing the laptop over to the store I bought this laptop from and when they tested it it was completely fine. I suspected it had something to do with my power outlet, when I changed the position it works. A few hours later it shows the same thing, I tried every method found online but doesn't work what should I do.

I called up HP support and they gained remote access they did exactly what you asked me to do and it worked but this morning I restarted the laptop and it doesn't charge again. I tried redownloading the Bios and it works and it doesn't work a few hours later.

Hi,
as @The_Fossette is out of the office, I'm replying to you.
Let me know if the hardware test was run on the battery. Below mentioned are the steps to initiate the battery test:
-
Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
-
Turn on the computer and immediately press the F2 key repeatedly, about once every second.
-
The HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu is displayed.
- Select Component tests.
- Please initiate a test on the Battery - The Battery Test checks your system to make sure that the battery is functioning properly. It tests the battery and allows you to run calibration if needed. The Battery Check test time is 2 minutes. Battery Calibration time is 2 to 4 hours.
To run the battery test and for battery information, follow the steps in Battery Test.
Hope this information helps. Please feel free to let me know what happens. Cheers!
