My chromebook charges slow. I bought it on ebay recently.
It complains that the charger is low power, but it is not. I have tried a 3A and a 2A charger
chrome:\\system > powersupply indicates that the battery voltage is 11.5v. and amperage less than .5 A.
Is it possible to charge this with a 5v charger? Are these indications correct?
Thanks,
John C

Thanks for your help
I bought an aftermarket charger with the specs you mentioned. It charges my tablet at around 1.5A. but only charges the g2 at around 6-700 mA. So, I suspect a defect in the G2 as the G2 will not re-charge and operate at the same time with this amount of current! I don't want to invest further in a branded charger if the g2 is defective.
My post was mainly about the curious fact that the g2 battery appears to be 10 volts and I wondered how that could be if the charger is only providing 5 volts. Anyway, I guess I'll leave it lie as the seller has offered a partial refund.
Thanks again,
JohnC

Hi @kulcousy ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Chromebook 11 G2 and issues with charging. The cord supplied is for a 15.75-W, 5.25-V, 3-A, micro-USB AC adapter. Here is a link to your manual page 14 for the part numbers for your area.
Here is a link to FAQ's with the Chromebook.
Hope this answer your concerns.
Thanks.
