Hp Pavilion 14 chromebook

I have had my chromebook for a while now and nothing has really happened to it. Well one day while i was sitting on my couch i need to do something. So i picked my laptop up and was moving it so to a place to set it down at when it slipped and fell out of my hands. It hit my floor heater (it wasn't on thank goodness.) Well i'm about 5'4 so it had a good fall, but ever since then my laptop shuts down when it comes unplugged and the battery won't charge up past 1%. Everyone incuding me thinks its the battery. could it be the battery?

Hi Anime_lover63,

Thank you for contacting HP Support forum.

According to the issue that you have mentioned, there are possibilities that the battery connector on the motherboard might be misaligned due to the impact of the damage. Also suspect that the battery might have gone faulty due to the damage.

Try running battery test through crosh, click on the below link for battery test details,

http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-14-Chromebook/5330565/model/5360172/document/c043559...

  • If the Battery health percentage is greater than 50%, the battery is within the expected wear limits.
  • If the Battery health percentage is equal to or less than 50% and the battery is less than a year old, the battery is outside expected wear limits and might need to be replaced.
  • If the test results show Battery is Unknown, the battery might need to be replaced.

Regards,

Sarah
