What about the T8300 is that better than the T7700, I would assume so being a smaller die. Similar performance but cooler/less power.

The list that I provided are all stated as BIOS supported and  compatible by HP.  Installing any other processor is a $$ gamble.

Well I it must take the T8300 because I found this...

How far does that series of chips go up to? What's after the T8300 and where do they top out?

my 6710b has T9300 2.5MHz from factory...

I know this is an old post but I installed a t9300 in my 6710b and it only shows it as a dual 2.4ghz with 64/256mb level one and two cache....yuck man.
