I also just upgraded to the T4500 CPU and its running sweet!!  Used a fresh application of Artic Silver 5 thermal paste and with the laptop cooler I shaved a good 10 degrees of temp.  My idle temps are low at 30 and my running medium temp is at 38 to 40 with regular tasking at  video, web browsing, and my high temp is at 48 when playing Leauge of Legends.  I get average 20FPS and its playable at the lowest settings for 1360X768 resolution.  I am using a cooler master laptop cooler and the laptop is running smooth as "it should" be.  Dual Core  can handle volume better.  Just wanted to report the success and thats its running good and wish you the same luck.

The gamble worked,  I have upgraded the compaq presario cq56 219wm to the T9300 Core 2 Duo.  I first updated the bios to the latest at F.15. I have attached a desktop screen shot.  My idle temp is around 30, my regular tasking temp is at 38 to 40 and my high temp full load temp is 48 to 50.  Used fresh artic silver 5 paste and have a cooling pad.  Great upgrade, highly recommend to the 6meg cache/dual core cpu.  The T4500 was a slight boost over the celoron 900.  Overall I would recommend the T9300.  I would also recommend the T9500.  I haven't tested or verified but I don't see why not when I already run the T9300 fine.  I can also play League of Legends at average of 20 to 25 Framers per second.

the T4500 is a "slight" upgrade boost over the celeron 900.  Same l1 and l2 cache only difference is its dual core and clocked 100 megahertz higher.  I did   both cpu's and I would recommend the Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 or T9500.  Duel Core and they have 6meg l2 cache and you will jump light years from the T4500.

a few questions about the upgrade id like to ask, i have the same laptop model you do and im quite interested into upgrading to the processor youre using. do i need a new heat sink when i install the new cpu, and i would also like to know if you can run windows 7 normaly with the cpu without tweeking it to preformance setting instead of normal setting. and further more, will the cpu heat up easily if i dont get a cooling pad. I just like some more info as to how you got it to work. because the laptop we both use has the gl40 chipset. and if you could give me some snapshot as proof that i can upgrade to a T9500 that would be great. thx 🙂

No you don't have to use a new heatsink and fan as it its the same Thermal design.  I used artic silver 5 for thermal paste that will help with temps and depending how heavy usage preference  you use it for it I would recommend a cooling pad.  Artic silver makes a new paste that is better I am use to this paste but be sure to goto there website and follow there directions exactly.  I play league of legends on it and the gpu muscle isn't there but its decent for low end graphic graphic gaming with a cooling pad because it will exceed 50 degrees C and thats something you don't wanna exceed.  There is a snapshot of proof that the cpu is installed already.  I run win7 normally without tweaking nothing and its smooth as it can be, snappy and responsive to my preferably likes.  If your using it for basic browsing, shopping, facebooking, then a cooling pad isn't necessary.

Thank you for your response, this definetly helps me out cause my cpu is garbage. Your help is appreciated. 🙂

After reading this and finding out that the cq56 was compatible with the t9300 I went ahead and upgraded mine to that, I knew before hand though that this processor did not come with intergrated graphics but I got it any way. It is much much better that the celeron 900, but better use for the last month. But I wandering if there was any way that I could upgrade the cpu to a core i3 or anything with a intergraded graphics card to get better graphics processing I need it for light gaming and processing and rendering large amounts of video (job). I understand that I should buy a better computer for this, I already have, i just want to see how far I can push my 4 year old laptop. So any way to get better grpahics?

No the i3 or anything with on-chip graphics is a different "package" i.e socket design and it would be a square peg in a round hole kind of thing. You have gone as far as possible in upgrading, and actually beyond expectations.

I am unaware of any add in graphics card for laptops. I never expierianced or heard of any. Your options would be a I3 or i5 cpu upgrade or swap out another motherboard with better on board graphics. You would have to verify compatibility with the I5 as i am not 100% sure. When swapping out motherboards you would have to have matching form factors. Also the price investment comparison is something to consider. A ssd would help out processing large video files.
