I have to replace the harddrive on my laptop and I checked online for a suitable replacement and it came up with a Western Digital 120GB (WD1200BEVS) 5400rpm SATA 8MB Notebook Hard Drive (2.5 inch).
Specification
- Mfr Part Number: WD1200BEVS
- Capacity: 120 GB
- Rotational Speed: 5,400 rpm
- Cache: 8 MB
- Interface: SATA 150
- Max. External Transfer Rate: 150 MB/s
- Seek Time:
- Read: 12.0 ms
- Track-To-Track: 2.0 ms
- Dimension (WxLxH): 2.75 x 3.94 x 0.374 inch / 69.85 x 100.2 x 9.5 mm
- Weight: 0.26 lbs / 0.117 kg
I need to know if this is correct and if it's close to the one already on my laptop.
Thanks

This is the default HD of your notebook. I just hope it helps.
Part number: 431407-001
120GB SATA hard drive - 5,400 RPM, 2.5in form factor, 9.5mm thick - With mounting bracket
Search the part number here: http://laptopparts.vivotechnology.net/
The computer wants to say to the user: 101010101010 (meaning: "cant you do anything right?")

Hello viviousvulcan,
With replacing your hard driver, I can not guarantee that the Hitachi that you have will work. I have included though the 'Compaq Presario V6000 Notebook PC - Maintenance and Service Guide'. If you take a look at page 121, it will list the part numbers for compatible hard drives.
Please let me know if this answers your question, thank you.

i have a same laptop V6000, my hard disk size is 120Gb, now it is too less to handle the data, i am looking for upgrading it. So can i use same SATA 500GB laptop hard disk from WD. will my laptop support this much capacity disk, does it have any negative impact on the performance
