Whenever I try to watch a video online (youtube, netlix..) my computer completely shuts itself down without any warning. It shuts down almost as if I held down the power button. The video usually only lasts 5-20 seconds before turning off. It also shut itself off once when I tried to uninstall a program. When I turn it back on it is slow to boot, and it show the Windows Error Recovery screen saying "Windows did not shut down successfully..."
My computer isn't overheating. There aren't any viruses. I completely restored the computer to manufacture settings, didn't help. I tried updating a bunch of the drivers including chipset, graphics, and BIOS, didn't help. I'm at a loss as to what I can do to fix it.
I have a Pavilion dv6-1355dx with Windows 7
Thanks!

Hello JillChristine, I understand that you are having problems with your laptop/notebook.
What I can suggest you to do is that, try cleaning your Air Vents that let the hot air out so the computer doesn't overheat. If Air Vents are not cleaned properly or have never been cleaned, they can cause the hot air to go back in instead of coming out of the system.
Also, if the Air Vent's are perfectly clean, what you can do is make sure that the Air Vents are getting enough space to release the heat, often people put their notebooks on like a cloth, which blocks the Air Vents, that causes the heat to go back and over heat the computer. Try doing what I have told you. It might help you out.
🙂
Also, don't forget to click "Kudos!" to say Thank you. 🙂

Thank you for the response. I believe the next step is performing a system recovery. If the issue is software related, this should resolve it. For information on performing a system recovery, please reference this HP document.
Afterward, please install the correct drivers so the computer works properly. These steps should resolve the issue.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
