Hp touchsmart notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)
While factory resetting it shut down and now when u turn it on it says "the computer restated unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install windows, click OK to restart the computer, and then restart the installation." But every time I click OK it just restarts and gives me this message again. What do I do? I don't have a windows disk

Hi @Echo2737,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community!

I came across your post about the Notebook, and wanted to assist you! I have looked into your issue about your HP Touchsmart and the computer shut down during factory reset. Here is a link to put the Notebook in Safe Mode. Then you can do a system restore. System restore will help if something automatically updated and did not go well on the Notebook. You might have to consider a few days before the issue happened.

If that does not help, here is a link that might help.

Please let me know how this goes.

I did the first option but now it says windows cannot complete installation in safe mode. To continue installing Windows, restart the computer. And that's on repeat.

Hey @Echo2737,

You will have to use the CD that you created from the original OS. Then upgrade to Windows 19 64 bit.

Thanks.
