HP 15 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

My laptop is a new  one, recently obtained this past december as a gift.  Each time I go to access the internet the browser will  crash after a random amount of time, anywhere from a few hours to just minutes after starting up.  I have tried internet explorer, google chrome, and  firefox but each time it does the same thing.  It doesn't give any warning when it crashes and it will do  so  if there is  even just one tab open.  Can someone please tell me why it is doing this and how I can fix it?

Hi @B1aze

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I noticed your issue about your HP 15 Notebook and issues with the Notebook crashing. I recommend to restore the BIOS defaults. You could restore the BIOS with this document selecting the reloading the BIOS default settings. Not rollback. Restore BIOS defaults are needed.

Most times overheating is the reason it shuts down. Are you venting the Notebook while using it?

Here is a document that shows you how to launch the Recover manager differently that might help. Turn on the power and press F11 to run recovery without starting Windows. It gives you the option to reinstall software.

Please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices HDMI Cables, as these could cause some issues.

Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that might need updating.

Please let me know how this goes.

Thanks.
