I installed a bios update on my DM4-3000 and when it was done my laptops wireless button stopped working. What is especially annoying about that is this button is the only way to enable wireless on the laptop. Brilliant Idea. It took them days to release a hotkeys driver update. I really love this laptop but stuff like this makes me never want to purchase HP again. I use this laptop for many things including homework and not having the internet was extrememly inconvienent.

Is BIOS update related to OS: Win 7 or 8?
I've g6 1201-tx.
BIOS: F.66.
Both Win 7 and Win 8 work great. So you should include F.66 in g6 1200 series.
Let me know about it.

Hello
What's your computer model? I have a friend who has a HP G61 and i installed Windows 8 for him and it works just fine. In fact with his computer he had never even updated the BIOS(even now its still on the BIOS that he bought it with) and everything from the bluetooth to the wifi works fine.
My computer was released like in late 2010 but am able to run Windows 8 perfectly. I was able to install all the software from the biometrics to the ATI graphics card(with SW working) to the Hp beats audio.
Windows 8 is not bad. It just requires some getting used to and some tweaking here and there.

But Hp is really bad at notebook support. Lenovo has released Windows 8 drivers for most of its notebooks esp. for the thinkpad line-up dating up to 2010.

Omo x'3 That's a good news ^w^
Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T6570 @ 2.10GHz 2.10 GHz :// Is that good or bad !?
I think I'll try and install Windows8 on my Notebook and see how it goes ~ Thankies for your help ^w^

Its good. The minimum system requirements are similar to those of Windows 7. In fact the main problem with Windows 8 is just the missing drivers. But fortunately some essential drivers can be installed using Windows compatibility mode. Others are common among manufacturers, for instance Intel Management Engine components.
I would suggest you install it on different partition.
