Last night when I shut down my computer before it turned off it installed 10 updates (windows updates and security updates). Then this morning when I turned on my laptop in the middle of while it was then configuring the updates, before it was finished and my computer started up, my computer shut off because the battery died.
Then I turned it back on and everything seems to be okay but I'm just wondering if that could have corrupted anything or did any damage to my windows system in general?
I am unsure if this is related or not but when I open a new tab in chrome instead of saying new tab on the tab itself it says chrome://newtab

Hi @jacquelynm
Don't worry, if things are OK now, it hasn't corrupted anything.
With regards to Google Chrome, no - Windows Updates and Chrome are not related.
If you want, you may try to reinstall Chrome following these steps:
>> https://www.wintips.org/how-to-completely-uninstall-re-install-google-chrome/
Note, that if you have some bookmarks or passwords stored, you need to export them prior to following the procedures above and import that data after successful Chrome reinstallation.
