Out of control cursor. Begins with sparkles on left side of screen like drops falling in water, when desktop appears cursor repeatedly choses files and apps on desktop. Rebooting used to help. Disabling touchscreen and using external mouse helped for a while. Cursor is so out of control cant reboot computer normally. Have to pull battery to reboot. Problem is becoming so frequent, cant use computer. Thanks!

Hey @Casterbean ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11 Notebook and mouse freezing and behaving erratically. Here is a document on how to troubleshoot the mouse and Touchpad sensitivities.
If you will go to the section on Adjusting TouchPad or ClickPad pointing sensitivities it should help resolve the issue.
Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system. If your system is not up to date this could be causing your issue.
Hope this fixes your issue.
Thanks.

Thank you Mrstenter for taking the time to suggest a solution. The solution you offered did not work however. The touch pad on the computer works great and I've never had a problem with it. I did notice that when I tilted the screen it would cause the cursor to go crazy or, on rare occassion, make it stop, so I figured it may be the touch screen. I disabled the touch screen option and the computer works fine. Disappointing that I have to do without that option but beats having to buy a new computer! Thanks again for your suggestion.
