D9Y32UT - ultra slim dock / usb devices don't always respond on redock

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

printer and USB keyboard connected to USB ports on dock.  When laptop is undocked and then redocked, the printer and keyboard sometimes work after a long pause (30 seconds or more).  Other times they don't work even after 5 minutes.  If the system is restarted that seems to resolve it.

 

If the devices are plugged directly into the laptop there is no issue.

 

Is there any known issue - perhaps a firmware update or other software issue?

make sure the firmware on the dock is version 2.30 (download from your laptops's web driver download pages), and also that your bios and laptop drivers are up to date

 

you can use either HP Image Assistant or HP Softpaq Download Manager to check. both are downloadable from www.hp.com/go/clientmanagement
