Since HP support only tells us to download new BIOS and (of course) it doesn't work, I feel that I have to answer my own question.

HOW TO DISABLE F5 FOR DUMMIES

After you download and  update your BIOS from HP website (I used HP assistand on my PC), turn off your computer. Then start your computer and right away hold ESC and F10 keys. Here you can DISABLE F5 LIGHT MANUALLY.

Simply downloading new BIOS and restarting your PC will NOT work despite the HP people's advice.

Cheers,

Lilu

Thanks for your reply.

I have already updated my BIOS without any success.

After reading your reply I did it again just incase something didn't work the first time. The F5 light was the first thing that came on after restart, and it is still on.

Any other suggestions.  Or perhaps I am doing something wrong when installing new BIOS (I use HP assistant).
