I have a DV4-1435DX notebook with the F.12 bios. I downloaded the newest bios ver F66A update from the support page and tried to install only to get the message " there isn't any rom file in this directory". I also downloaded the 3 older versions and got the same results with the exception that one of them left up a dos box which said the vga ID didn't match. Has anyone run into this and been able to resolve the problem? The laptop runs ok on the F12 bios with the exceptions of telling me my new battery is bad, but it checks out fine on another DV4 laptop, and the power light at the AC adaptor plug only coming on when the power button is pressed, which is not the same as others i have tried, usually the light comes on as soon as you plug in the adaptor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update on bios problem. I copied the f61 bios pack to a usb drive and it installed fine, I'm not going to try the f66, too many horror stories out there. thanks again for your help.

You definitely want the F.66A  BIOS since it is designed to fix an AC adapter issue you seem to be having. I don't have your laptop but I downloaded the SP48847.exe file and extracted it with winrar and there are 5 .FD files in there which appear to contain the BIOS rom files you need. Do you get the Insyde program interface with the little cartoon of the wizard guy? It shows existing BIOS and then upgrade version.

Yes i did get the little cartoon guy and as soon as i hit start it comes up with the no rom in directory message, and shows the current bios rev as f12  and the ID as 30F7 . I looked in the folders i extracted to on the older versions and the FD files are there but on the F66 version they don't show up. I have even tried reverting back to Vista from Win 7 but the same thing occurs. Is it possible that the jump from f12 to f66 is too great? the oldest i could find was the f55. I really appreciate your help
