Hi,
Please write your notebook product number (p/n). You'll find it at the bottom of the laptop on a sticker.

Hi,

Your notebook is a business model and solution which is posted here is for consumer models.

Please uninstall DigitalPersona and current Validity sensor drivers from your system.

Download and install Validity sensor driver from here.

Next download and install HP ProtectTools Security Manager from here - this aplication have software for fingerprint sensor.

Ps.

All drivers for your specific model you may get from here.

Yes it may be disabled there. Press F10 on boot to enter Bios.

Go to System Cofiguration -> Built-In Device Options, find Fingerpint Device on the list and check is it enabled there or not.

Hullo Daniel,

I've followed your tutorial closely, but my computer keeps saying "fingerprint sensor not detected". My problem is as per Ad. F, and I've already had my firewall  unblock the files you listed. I'm also not sure if I'm supposed to see "biometric devices" in my Device Manager after following Part A of your tutorial, cuz all I saw was "Other Devices">"Fingerprint Sensor" (unknown driver).

Would really appreciate your help as I'm at my wit's end with this thing!

TIA!

Edited: This should go to the DigitalPersona, Authentec Fingerprint and W7 thread, my bad. Still need help, though T__T.

I'm curious if there are any other solutions.  One of the ones that I have found is from 3M Cogent, but I'm wondering if that software will work with the Validity sensors.
