HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14-dw1000 (1W798AV)

I don't want windows on my notebook, i would like to install any operating system I like but the SSD cannot be detected by the installers. This is dues to the Intel VMD controller. I NEED to disable this controller and it should be an option in my BIOS to be able to do so but for what ever reason HP does not give this option or make any advanced settings accessible.

HP Please allow me to change my storage settings on the notebook I paid alot of money for.

What is the brand, model  and specification of the SSD you have installed?

When a Windows installer does not recognize an SSD, it is normally for other reasons.

The Intel VMD  enable/disable option is not present in the BIOS because HP BIOS engineers have not deemed it to be a necessary option.

One of the primary reasons is that the installer does not have the Intel IRST driver that it needs for the SSD.

I provided the Intel IRST driver  for your use.

Your laptop is compatible with PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 2280 SSD products.
