Hello,
I have a HP 645 Probook G1 A4-4300M/4GB/500GB SSD /DVDRW/14"HD/W7P 64b latptop .
I also have a Dockingstation model HSTNN-I10X.
I have attached a ethernet wire on the docking station, which works. My problem is that when I connect my laptop to the docking station. Wireless get prioritized above wired. So the laptop always uses wireless unless I disable it manually.
Ofource I do not want to disconnect it manually. I want the laptop to choose wired connection when wired, and wireless when wireless.
I tried a couple of things:
1. I went to Adapter setings --> Advance --> Advance settings --> Moved the lan area connection to top, wireless network connection to bottem. this did not work
2. I manual set a Metric number in the connection properties (internet protocol 4 & 6 --> properties --> advanced --> cahnge automatic metric to manual and filled in a low number at wired connection (nr 5) and filled in a higher number (nr 250) at wireless connection. this did not work
3. looked into the bios menu. There were no option to change priority or something like that.
Now I still have to disconnect wifi when I am attached to the docking station ( Even tried to connect a ethernet cable straight to the laptop, but that did not help either). Problem is when I unlock the laptop from the dockingstation, I have to manually connect to the wireless network again.
Additional info: since my laptop is alway closed when locked on the dockingstation, I cannont press the WIFI button to disconnect or connect.
Any suggestions help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi:
See if the BIOS in your notebook has a LAN/WLAN switching setting.
On my HP Elitebook 6930p there is a setting to enable LAN/WLAN switching which automatically disables the wireless card when an ethernet cable is connected and visa versa.
