Hi,
I have a Compaq laptop which I bought in Nov, 2010.
My friend has a HP laptop that he bought sometime in 2009.

I suspect we have swapped our chargers, after I guess, his stopped working.
Can you kindly let me know if the CT numbers in the chargers indicate anything about the time of manufacturing.

His CT#: WASHA0ACXYE6B9

My CT#:  WAXBH0A1RYR39N

XB suggests to me that this one was made after SH.

Please let me know if this is the case.

OR, please let me know if there is any other info on the charger that suggests manufacturing time.

Thanks a lot (I do understand the sillyness of the question, though 🙂

I will give his laptop details shortly.
(Although, Its a HP Presario, i3 bought sometime in late 2009)

Also,

The two chargers differ in size, and in style of print.

Mine is a bigger charger with a fresh print.
His charger is of the same size/print my previous, 5 year old compaq laptop used to have.

Please let me know if you need any other info.

And thanks again for helping me out.

Hello sakitha123,

You need your windows 8 product key.

The product key is embedded into the BIOS of the laptop, it’s not a number that you can see or write down.

You can reinstall windows 8 with the recovery disk that you can order from HP.

Here is a link to the phone number to call HP.

Let me know how everything goes.

Have a good day.
