I recently had to replace the hard drive in my Pavillion dv6. Everything went perfectly. However, over the last couple weeks, my USB ports have stopped working one by one. 

 

In device manager, there are 4 devices listed under "Other Devices": PCI Device, SM Bus Controller, and 2 entires for USB Controller. I've done my best to find the drivers that seem to be missing, but I have been unable to do so.

I have of course tried restarting, then uninstalling those devices and restarting (several times). I also tried installing some drivers that other users seemed to have success with. Nothing has worked thus far.

 

Any suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hi:

 

Download and install the amd chipset drivers and reboot.  You want the first file listed on the page.

 

That should install the smbus and usb controllers.

The other driver you need for the PCI device is the Realtek Card Reader driver from your notebook's support and driver page.
