Dear friends, please help me if you could.
I have installed Windows 8.1 on my laptop HP pavilion G6 model 2241sa.
almost all drivers were installed automatically. Additionally I downloaded from HP support site all drivers for similar model (2241nr)
I installed everything one be one. All works BUT ONE device is not recognised...
Here are some details of it:
it says Unknown device (in Other devices group) with yellow exclamation mark. Location - on PCI Express Root Complex. bios device name - _SB. PCI0.ACEL, hardware ID - ACPI \ VEN_HPQ& DEV_0004. That's all i have about this device.
Please help me to establish which driver I need and for which device? Many many thanks for input.

You need this driver...

Jesus Paul, 100% spot on. Driver sold the problem, device manager looks perfect.
I guess the device is called - HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor.
Just one question to HP then - why didn't they include this in the list of drivers of corresponding model?
anyways, problem solved. Many thanks for very quick response and quality of reply. Paul you are the best!!!:smileyhappy:

You're very welcome.
The driver for W8 is there on the g6-2xxx support and driver page.
It is called the Protectsmart Hard Drive Protection Driver (under solutions).
It probably would have worked for W8.1 too, but I knew where the last revision of the driver was, which actually lists W8.1 as supported.

Hi Paul. Thanks for update. I know now what the problem is. When I was looking for driver I specifically selected my operating system (Windows 8.1). And since it gave me such choice along with Windows 8, I thought that some drivers must be different or updated in some ways. Just now I selected Windows 8 and I got much larger list of downloads than for Windows 8.1. I guess they all compatible with 8.1. But maybe not officially tested therefore absent in Win 8.1 download section.
Anyways Paul, thanks again. Your input is very much appreciated.
Regards, Vit

Anytime, Vit.
Glad to have been of assistance.
That is correct. If you don't see a W8.1 driver that means there were none tested for your model.
Some of the W7/W8 drivers will work and some won't.
Best Regards,
Paul
