Do you want me to uninstall the current driver?

HP Recommended

Hi:

After you uninstall the current driver, restart the PC and try manually installing the driver again that Ub6424 gave you.

I think you will still get the unsupported operating system error when you run the driver.

The driver OS checker knows that you are trying to install the driver on a newer build of W10 (21H2) and not version 1909.

I still don't understand why that driver which is on your notebook's support page will not manually install.

tried to update and still received the same message  Thanks for all your help.  I really appreciate it.

Did you do the manual driver update that @Paul_Tikkanen  suggested ?

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I will have to raise the white flag of surrender on this problem.

I tried to but still didn't correct my situation.  I want to thank you for all of your assistance.  It's very much appreciated.

Hello @barson43

The touchpad could be defective or the ribbon cable (of touchpad system board) is no longer 100% seated, has come loose. This could only be verified by a visual inspection.

Last try before the device should be opened is:

(1) Install/Update

HP Consumer Desktop / Notebook PC ME Firmware Update

2020.1.0629 Rev.A33.8 MBJun 29, 2020Download

(2) Let ME BIOS be installed until it's completely done !

(3) Start windows

(4) Shutdown computer

(5) Disconnect Charger

(6) Press and hold <power> button for a least 30 seconds

(7) Connect Charger

(8) Start windows and check touchpad again ...
