HP DV6-2119TX
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I have just upgraded my HP DV6-2119TX from Windows 7 to Windows 10.

According to Device manager I need some updated drivers for:

Base system device (x3)

Multimedia controller

Unknown device (x2)

The details for each of these are:

Base system device, PCI bus 5, device 0, function 3, Code 28

Base system device, PCI bus 5, device 0, function 4, Code 28

Base system device, PCI bus 5, device 0, function 1, Code 28

Multimedia controller, PCI bus 4, device 0, function 0, Code 28

It is less obvious what information to post for the two "unknown devices" so I will go with "information" from the "Events" tab:

Device ROOT\JUNGO\0000 was migrated.

Last Device Instance Id: ROOT\JUNGO\0000
Class Guid: {C671678C-82C1-43F3-D700-0049433E9A4B}
Location Path:
Migration Rank: 0x0
Present: true

Device ROOT\SYSTEM\0002 was configured.

Driver Name: null
Class Guid: {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}
Driver Date:
Driver Version:
Driver Provider:
Driver Section:
Driver Rank: 0x0
Matching Device Id:
Outranked Drivers:
Device Updated: false
Parent Device: HTREE\ROOT\0

I assume that I need to download updated drivers from somewhere and install them.  But where do I find them and how do I identify the correct ones?

Cheers

Dave.

Hi, Dave:

Here is the driver you need for the base system device.

This package contains the JMicron Card Reader driver for the supported notebook/laptop models and operating systems.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45001-45500/sp45010.exe

The multimedia controller is the TV tuner and if my memory serves me right there is no driver for that.

The other two, I have no idea.

I recommend you google the hardware ID's for the devices and see if you can find the drivers, or post them here and I will help if I can.

To find the hardware ID, click on each device in the device manager.  Then click on the Details tab at the top of the device window.

Now you will see a Property drop down list, and it will be set to Device Description.

Drop down on that list and select the 3rd item (Hardware ID's).

Post the top string of characters that you see in the window.

Thanks Paul

Since I don't use the TV tuner I have disabled that object, so along with the driver link you provided have resolved 3 of the 5 issues. Yay!

The HardwareIDs for the remaining two are:

root\DTSoftBus01

*WINDRVR6

Any ideas? Could one of these relate to an old USB-RS232 converter that I used once and no longer have a need for?  If so do I uninstal it?

You're very welcome.

I have no idea what those devices are.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to right click on those devices in the device manager, and restart the PC.

Hoepfully they won't show up again.
