Hello.
This is my product information here.
I have searched but I cannot find the information online anywhere, including at HP. I am wanting to upgrade the RAM from 4GB to 8GB.
Could someone please inform me if this product has ECC or non-ECC RAM?
I just don't want to buy the wrong RAM or mix ECC with non-ECC.
Thank you.
Regards

I am sorry @terminator but it just saves me opening another thread.
I am supposing that my product above mentioned comes also with CL-11 RAM.
Product info here again for you.
Do you think it would be ok to buy 2x4GB sticks of CL-9 RAM [don't worry, I will NOT mix one stick of CL-11 with another of CL-9] and use on this laptop or do you see any major issues such as motherboard not supporting CL-9, etc, or even not be worth the investment as the CPU although an i5 it is 4th generation?
The RAM I am looking at buying is this Crucial [***please notice that on the Tech Data Specs it says 1.35; 1.5v***]
Will it be ok to use on my 1.35v system requirement?
Thanks once again for your support and also for giving me previously my first ever kudo on this Forum.
Regards.

Hi,
I do not think there is a problem of compatibility with modules Crucial refer to your laptop, if you want to be strict with latency searches for taking into following product number
4GB DDR3 PC3-12800 Unbuffered NON-ECC 1.35V CT6913762
- DDR3 PC3-12800 • CL=11 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1600 • 1.35V •
- upgrade for HP - Compaq HP 15-r084ng system.
- DDR3 PC3-12800 • CL=11 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1600 • 1.35V •
- upgrade for HP - Compaq HP 15-r084ng system.
You can use the application, I suppose the result is the same
System Scanner - Crucial

Crucial, manufactures a module can say is versatile because it has dual voltage, this means that is compatible for a laptop that uses 1.35V as in your case, or a laptop that uses 1.5V.
The module detects the voltage and adjusts to having the RAM already installed, I is detailed on the following link:
1.35v - 1.5v Dual-Voltage DDR3 memory

I am glad I checked with the Crucial application you posted. The RAM I mentioned above is NOT approved by Crucial for my system although on the comercial website the description completely matches all the factors we have been discussing in this thread.
Amazing how carefull one has to be, check and re-check everything...and then check again.
I will be using Crucial's website or application from now on so I am not led to mistake by sometimes improper references by comercial websites.
On the other hand I could always buy the HP branded and original RAM so that I would have no problems with my Warranty.
I must ponder...something to do on the weekend.
