Hi, anybody know the earliest HP motherboard that supports UEFI, I have a 4TB harddrive in my 6000 Pro MT and would like to use the full drive.

Thanks, Tim

Hi, Tim:

The 6200 Pro motherboard would be the earliest motherboard that has a UEFI BIOS.

If you are using your 4 TB HDD as a data drive only, you can use all 4 TB if you format it in the GPT format.

If you want to boot from it then you need a UEFI BIOS.

See this HP white paper for more info regarding UEFI, GPT, etc.

Thanks for the information, yes I will be booting from the 4TB drive so I'm thinking of replacing my motherboard as a cheaper solution to use the full harddrive.

You're very welcome.

You may be better off just buying a 6200 Pro from eBay, because I don't think the processor in your 6000 pro is supported in the 6200 pro motherboard.

I don't see any Pentium dual core E8xxx processors listed as supported for the 6200 pro on the above link.

So, at a minimum you would need a new motherboard and a new processor/heatsink.
