EliteBook 8440P Fingerprint Reader

I don't see a Discussion Board for lap tops, so if I need to post elsewhere, kindly tell me where to find the correct board.

I recently installed a new hard drive and reinstalled Win7 Professional. I can't figure out how to to turn on and re-program my fingerprint scanner. I'm certain the driver is installed. Can someone help, please? Thank you

Now to your question...in addition to having the fingerprint reader driver installed, you also need to install the Protect Tools Security Manager software in order to enroll your fingerprint.

Is there any way to set this up without installing hp protect tools, just I found that software didn't work with a lot of programs and slowed down my laptop considerably
