Hi,

I'm using an EliteBook 8460p. Now when I try to enter BIOS settings, the computer asks for entering Windows account password or enroll fingerprint. Whatever I do, when password is accepted and finger print recognized, it brought me to "read-only" BIOS settings, only some settings are changable. (please refer screenshots)

I looked into every menu in BIOS to enable settings changing, but no glue.

Maybe in the past I used some kind of HP security software to lock BIOS settings.

Please kindly help! I need to change the boot order, as I recently attached a caddy hard disk, it also boot into the caddy, not the primary SSD.

Many thanks!

I understand the reason now:

When I press F10 to enter BIOS settings, the system asks me if I want to enter BIOS as Guest User, I was always move the blue highlight to the button NO to log in, and after that it always asks me to enter the password / enroll fingerprints for nothing.

This time I chose YES (or the color hightlight is reversed), and I can access the full settings in BIOS.

That's really weird.
