EliteBook 850 G3 V1C07EA#BCM
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello,

I bought new EliteBook 850 G3 V1C07EA#BCM, where I did new installation of Win7 Ent 64bit.

But, I am not able to initiate TPM chip in bitlocker settings.

1. I enabled TPM in BIOS - also checked ,,state"

2. I see TPM chip inside device manager

Please, could you help me?

I tried to reenable TPM in BIOS.

I am IT guy, so I did it many times at different models without any problem.

Thanks a lot,

Michal

Make sure the driver associated with the TPM is a native Windows driver, not a dedicated chip driver

This is the right one or not?

Thanks, Michal

Can yuo try the following?

  • Update the BIOS to 1.05 if not done already
  • Clear the TPM and then ensure the TPM State is enabled.
    • If clearing the TPM alone does not work, then
      • reset the BIOS  to factory defaults and
      • clear the TPM again

Nobody knows? I tried OS reinstall with 32bit Win7 Ent. I found that TPM was able to initiate, but after some MS Updates I am again back - TPM cannot be initiated, but I see them in Device manager. Thanks a lot

Did you find an answer to this? I have been trying to encrypt some g3's at work and they barf at the TPM every time even after enabling it in the bios----speaking of which: the verbiage used in the bios to enable TPM makes it seem like you are disabling it. Not just with the g3's either. We've got some new HP desktops that TPM doesn't work in either. We need encryption for a variety of security reasons and these new machines seem unnecessarily difficult to encrypt with Bitlocker.
