Product: Elitebook 840 G2
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So I've been trying to get the brightness hotkeys to work properly for a while now. I've tried so many different versions of the Hotkeys Driver for this device and even other devices.

 

The volume and sleep buttons work but not mic/brightness.

The main reason of this post was to fix my problem but hopefully have the fix visible for others, seeing as it's such a common problem for people. 

 

The only problem I can think of is the Windows version (1803) not being compatible with the most recent drivers.

Hey, I checked the downloads page for the model (https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-elitebook-840-g2-notebook-pc/7343202) and this version now works. I don't know what changed but it works for me so maybe it will work for you. It's under the Software-solutions tab, version 6.2.43.1 Rev.A.
