Elitebook 840 G3
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I have received some brand new Elitebook 840 G3 and they refuse to be woken up from sleep by pressing a key on the keyboard - you have to press the power button.

Having raised this with HP support they have said the hardward doesn't support this feature.

This does seem a bit ridiculous considering we have far cheaper and older laptops which can do this.

Does anyone know how to enable this or if this will be included in a BIOS update?

We have tried every power management option in the BIOS we can find (there is no option for wake on keyboard) and there are no editable options in the power management tab in device management.

Thanks

Hi,

Have you try from Device Manager:

Also for keyboard.

Regards.

Yes, I have looked there and there is no Power management tab.

Interestingly, this is the same as on devices I have where the keyboard does wake fom sleep.

Thanks
