Hey guys
I bought 2 Kingston 8GB Ram for my HP Elitebook Folio 9470m (Windows 8 Pro) to upgrade it from 8GB to 16GB. According to Kingstons' "Memory Search" the RAM I bought should work with my laptop:
8GB Module - DDR3 1600MHz
Artikelnummer: KTH-X3C/8G
Herst.-Artikelnummer: 689374-001; B4U40AA; H2P65AA
Techn. Daten: DDR3, 1600MHz, Non-ECC, CL11, 1.5V, Unbuffered, SODIMM, 204-pin
I installed the two Kingston Rams and removed the one from HP because I read that the ram should be from the same brand.
After the proper installation of the two Rams the Laptop shuts down during startup or the repair modus comes up with no result.
If I install the HP Ram and one Kingston Ram, everything works fine, but i can't install both Kingston rams without the mentioned problem. Why?? 🙂
Thanks in advance for your help guys!

Yes it should work. I checked the Kingston site and this memory is specifically recommended for your model. I would try each Kingston module separately with the HP module and run a memtest extended test on it.

Make a bootable cd or usb stick with memtest and run it on each module. I suspect you got a bad stick of RAM. At the least if it does not work Kingston is very reputable and they will refund your money. Here is the memory suggested by Crucial:

Hi Huffer
Thanks for your fast reply!
After a couple of calls with HP Support and Kingston I swapped the Kingston RAM (just the slots). Means same Ram installed but just swapped the Slots... I have no idea what the problem was, but it seams to work now...
I'm going to do a memory check to be sure.
