@mohamedgamal,

What is the exact model and product number of the notebook?

NOTE: Do NOT provide the serial number.

Is the drive listed in Computer where the other drives are located?

Go to Start, search for Device Manager, and open this result.

Expand the DVD/CD category.  Is the drive listed there?  If so, open it and report the full status message.

@Azarudeen,

What is the exact model of the notebook?

NOTE:  Do NOT provide the serial number.

What steps have you taken to try and resolve the issue?  Essentially, I want to know what has been done to minimize any repeated steps.

A previous user reported that replacing the drive did the trick for them.

In your case, does the DVD drive show in Computer with the rest of the drives?

@numi_95,

I recommend posting in the business support forums found here.

The reason I recommend this is that your notebook is a commercial model and they typically get different warranties than consumer models and I don't want to short change you in the event it does have a warranty option.

Hi smallfalla,

I saw your post about the DVD not recognizing CD/DVD and I will be happy to help. What version of operating system are running? Are you using the same notebook the dv6-2120us that is in the title of this thread or something else? If you are using something else I will need your product number.

Find your product number on a notebook:

Finding your OS:

Thank you,

Click the “Kudos Thumbs Up" on the right to say “Thanks” for helping!

Thank you,
