Hello,
The ethernet cable of my laptop is not being detected by port. Also the network adapter settings is not showing lan/ ethernet. This problem arose all of a sudden. I did recovery but no help. I reintalled Realtek LAn all in one window adapter but it did not istall. It gives an error that realtek controller was not found. What should i do now?

Hi @microbio ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP 15 b005DU Notebook and issues with the Ethernet connection. Here is a link to troubleshoot the Internet connections. The Ethernet cable should have a light flashing to show operation. Do you see the light on the cable?
Here is a document on Airplane mode.
If Airplane mode is on you cannot use your WiFi or Ethernet, so Airplane mode should off.
You can do a system restore. System restore will help if something automatically updated and did not go well on the Notebook.
When performing a System restore please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices as they can cause issues.
I hope this helps.
Thanks.

THank u for the reply. I have already done all the things you have listed. No, the lights are not blowing. moreover the network adapter is not showing ethernet icon. I reinstalled the drivers also but no success.
Is there some problem with hardware?

Hi @microbio ,
Did you try following the document on how to resolve this issue?
Have you tried a different cable, if no lights on the cable this could be an issue.
No I am not aware of any hardware issues with this device.
I would be happy to assist if needed. How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Please let me know.
Thanks.

ya i have tried with different cable also. but no detection was there. The Wi fi is working fine. but cable is not detected. I have tried all the things listed here. http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c03535285#N101FF. but i could not perform step 9 "
Remove and reinstall wireless network card in Device Manager'' as the network adapter is not showing ethernet driver only wifi is there. I installed driver also but still it is not listed in network adapters.
