Since purchase, I have found the fans on my HP Spectre x360 Convertible 15-ch0xx to be extremely irritating and am unsure as to whether it i just my laptop with the problem or if every laptop of this model experiences it. There seems to be 5 distinct speeds which the fans can take up:
1 - noticeable noise but bearable
2 - fairly loud
3 - loud
4 - very loud
5 - like a jet engine
The 1st speed occurs when booting my laptop up and it remains for about a minute of use. The 2nd speed kicks in after this even if I have only 1-2 internet tabs open. The third speed comes about with multiple tabs open. The fourth with several programs open and the fifth when using the laptop whilst charging.
I have checked the task manager when the fans get loud and nothing even seems close to maxing out, so I am unsure as to why the fans get so loud so quickly. Most the reviews I read before purchase said that the laptop runs quietly for the most part, except from when performing activities like heavy gaming (which I don't do). Is this likely to be a fault with my laptop and, if so, would it be fixed if I sent it back (it is still under warranty).
On a separate note, the battery life on my laptop has also been extremely disappointing. It drains about 1% per minute whilst watching a youtube video on 90% brightness, with the laptop on power saver mode and with only 1 tab open. Is it possible that this is also a fault with my laptop?
