Hi @cgarcia,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community!

I came across your post about the Notebook, and wanted to assist you! I have looked into your issue about your HP 1000 Notebook and needing to access the BIOS. Here is a link that might help.

Are you trying this right at the begining as you press power?

Please let me know.

Thanks.

Thank you for this, as i said the f10 is not working at all that is why i cant access the bios. To access the bios as you said ineed to used f10 at the beginning as i press power, but the problem the f10 is not working on my notebook. Is there any way to access my bios setup? without using f10 key? is it possible to assigned the function of f10 key to other keys?

Try looking at this document.

It shows many ways to repair a BIOS.

You could try removing the battery, the ac adapter opening the back of the unit and removing the CMOS Battery. Once you have removed the CMOS Battery, press the power button three times and leave the battery out for a few hours. Some say this works.

I hope this helps.

Thanks.

Hey @cgarcia,

My above post does not use the F10 key?

Press and hold the Windows key and the B key at the same time while the computer is off.

Remove the RTC Battery.

None of the above use the F10 key.

Thanks.

Hey @cgarcia,

The documents provided you would have noticed that at no time while taking out the RTC battery should you turn on power or install the external battery. I recommended you try try

Press and hold the Windows key and the B key at the same time while the computer is off. Which in the document tells you to while holding these keys turn the computer on keep the Windows key and the B key, press and hold down the Power button on the notebook for 1 second, and then release the Power button and the keys.

Separate troubleshooting was to try removing the battery, the ac adapter opening the back of the unit and removing the CMOS Battery. Once you have removed the CMOS Battery, press the power button three times and leave the battery out for a few hours. Some say this works. Never indicated to return the battery and or the ac adapter.

If these suggestions have not helped please use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:

Case number and phone number appear. Thanks.
