Here are the instructions specifically for your system taken directly from the HP Mini 1151 User Guide.

Recovery Instructions [Page 63]

You will need the System Recovery CD/DVDs and the Application and Driver CD that came with your system AND an external USB CD/DVD drive. You cannot do a recovery directly from the hard drive like most other systems.

If you do not have the recovery disks you may be able to order them from HP.

If HP doesn't have them anymore you may be able to order them from RestoreDisks.com

Performing a System Recovery Windows XP [2006 or Later]

Do the following actions to reformat the hard drive and reinstall the operating system:
  1. Connect the computer to the AC power adapter.
  2. Close all programs.
  3. Click Start, click All Programs, select System Recovery, and then click PC Recovery.
  4. When the recovery options are presented, select the option to perform the PC Recovery, and then click Next.
  5. The computer will restart.
  6. When the Welcome to PC Recovery message displays, click OK to continue.
  7. On the System Recovery panel, select System Recovery. By default, the system will perform a complete reformat and will destroy all data.
  8. Restart the computer when prompted.
As an alternate method to the steps above, click Advanced Options, and select the Destructive Recovery option, and click Next to begin the reformatting process.

The computer is in the original factory condition and all system data, such as location and date must be reconfigured.

I am unable to find any listing under All Programs for System Recovery, PC Recovery, or Advanced Options.

I have searched all day and have only found System Restore under System in Control Panel and it does not give me any options for formatting, etc.

Please Advise.
