Flickering horizontal static lines in display

I have the same issue.

HP has told me to both/either:
A) Check to see if it happens in BIOS

B) Install the old video drivers that came with the laptop

Has anybody solved this? I hadn't heard about the screen timeout part. So I'll have to try that.

Have the same issue with new HPG6..My G7 hasnt same problem.  From sleep or hibernate mode only.

I found a solution(not sure 100% working) but.. Old drivers can help. Need to update via device manager(start--search bar---device manager---click) . I guess the probleme in bios itself...Display(LED panel) itself is ok.There is no defects at all. Something wrong inside of notebook.

Best display driver(my G7 with AMD Radeon) 15.09.2011 nr:8.900.7.0

PNP Monitor(G7 G6 AMD) 21.06.2006 nr: 6.1.7600.16385

Both notebooks are from 2012. Manual update is reccomended. Factory drivers are year 0.9-10.2011 or 2012(not reccomended)

+Install AMD CATALYST(not beta version) .Version 05-06.2012 .

Remember any PC or notebook need regular maintenance.

Do not forget to run chkdsk (search bar).

I am having the same problems, and all of the advice you guys have given has so far not worked. And I called HP, and they had no idea what to do. I could send it in, and possibly get it fixed? I'm not sure.

I to have this problem with my HP laptop and have been frustrated by its elusive cause. 

I do use my laptop on my bed frequently and was pondering possible RF interference coming through the mattress's

metal coil springs. ( metallic innercoil mattress springs have been used successfully as makeshift HAM radio antenna's)

I am inclined to believe the suggestion it may be caused by heat build up , I TESTED this theory by putting my laptop ontop of a large hardcover book to allow better ventilation . As I think the soft quilted comforter may have been partially blocking

the vent holes (SLOTS) preventing adequate airflow for cooling.  please someone tell me if you think this correct  Its hard to know for sure because the flickering is so random .

same problem here., i contacted hp care , no solution came out.

 only I suffer...

you are right after hardware replace same remains
