Hello. The screen of my laptop is slightly flashing, like Im constantly changing the brightness up&down. Its not as much visible, but when the display is any dark color, i can see it. the drivers/BIOS were already updated and i didnt change the settings. While wathing some youtube videos in Google Chrome I noticed that this problem disappeares, even if the window is minimized or the video is paused. But this situation helps only if hardware acceleration function in Google Chrome is on. Also, i wanted to mention that when im pressing the touchpad the screen flashes faster. Can you please recommend what can i do with it.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Have you updated Graphics and Chipset drivers?
  • Have you checked the display on an external monitor?

Let’s try these steps to resolve the problem:

I recommend you attempt to access the BIOS screen by tapping on F10 while the computer is restarting,

If the issue persists in the BIOS screen which is outside windows, it would confirm a hardware failure.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi. I tried to connect the TV as a display and the problem disappeared. There was no flckering when screen was doubled at the TV and on PC display at the same time. All drivers are updated. In the BIOS i cant see the flickers because of the black or white colors, i can only see them on others. I really appreciate your help and looking forward for your answer.

Thank you for posting back.

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue.
The last thing I can suggest try and restore the OS back to the factory default, which will isolate whether it’s a software or hardware issue.  The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi, I also had the same issue with a Pavilion model. The problem occurred when I deliberately did not update the windows.

How did I manage to resolve it? Well, first see if there is any windows update - after that check for the graphic cards update. If updating graphic card's drivers do not help, uninstall and reinstall the latest version from the website. It worked for me!
