I have both a main password and a PIN password to get into my account. (Mine is the Administrator account btw). I usually only use the Pin # to get into it bc/ it's much quicker. I have forgotten my main password because i rarely use it.

The problem is, whenever someone on another User wants to download something that needs my password permission- I can't give them permission bc I forgot the main p.w. It doesn't allow me the option to use the Pin password.

Also, if I want to update Windows, it recquires the main password.

Is there any way I can change the main password by using the Pin as confirmation? If not, is there a way change it without resetting and losing files?

I no longer have the disk that I've heard helps some people.

Any help is appreciated! c:

Is the account a standard Microsoft account or local account?

If it's your Microsoft account, just reset it through account through internet.

The following method is used for network computers, you may try this once --
Try this for local account: It'll probably remove the password of any user local account.

This step involves using the Command Prompt when logged in under an account with administrative privileges.

Access the Start menu by pressing the Windows key on your keyboard

Type “cmd” — this will bring up the Command Prompt in search results

Right-click the Command Prompt > Run As Administrator

Use the following command line to remove the password for any account (replacing “username” with the name of the user account you wish to remove the password for):

Net User username “”

The password for the account is now removed.

OR

If you want to change the password of the user, type this:

net user {Username}

* where {Username} represents the username you want to make change, and press ENTER.

Now you are allowed to fill in a password, you can't see your typing but it is there, so make sure you spell right.
Press ENTER two times to delete the password on the account so that the account doesn't have a password.

Log out and log back in .

Hope this works
