You can reset forgotten Windows password using Offline NT Password & Registry Editor, Windows install media or Ophcrack:

http://www.top-password.com/knowledge/reset-windows-7-password-without-reset-disk.html

It's recommended that you backup all important files on your hard drive. Note that all password reset/recovery tools won't work if bitlocker encryption was turned on your computer.

Do not want a system revovery, and loose all files and photos on HD. Will check out recovery software, like mentioned in the other answer I got 🙂

Hello. Have you resolved your problem? When you forgot Windows 7 login password, either a Windows 7 setup disc or a recovery tool can help to reset your password without losing data on the computer.

Hi Mitchell!

I never got around to download and try any software to fix our problem. I was a bit sceptical about what software to use, afraid I might download malware instead.

Today, out of the blue, my daughter remembered her password, so our problem is fixed for now, but I will take precoutions to make sure this does not happen again!:smileywink:

The windows password refixer seemed like a good program, and I think I would have tried this software, if my daughter had not remembered  the password today.:smileyhappy:

Thanks!
