Machine worked flawlessly for 2 months. Left on charge for about a month when not needed. At that time the front battery light would give 3 flashes when power-on button pressed regardles if pluged in with battery or without battery.
Battery at that time showed 8.1 volts with digital meter. The power supply shows 19 volts. The machine was left for another week without power supply on.
It now shows no flashes on power-on button press and the battery is dead. No response with power supply pluged in either. Not charging with good power supply.
Forgot which pins on the battery registered the 8.1 volts or I would attempt to put a charge on it a see if the mother board is othwise alive. Seems the charge circuit on the mother board is dead since no voltage at any combination ot pins in the battery compartment.
Will try to locate a good charged battery to conferm my diagnosis.
Anyone know the pin outs for the battery?

Hi @dikles,
Thank you for your query.
I grasp that after leaving your notebook connected to power for a week your battery will no longer charge. I was able to locate the part number for a replacement battery but not the pin out schematic for the battery.
Here is a link to HP Notebook PCs - Testing and Calibrating the Battery (Windows 7) that will assist you.
Sometimes there is a small pin on the power adapter itself that gets bent and then it does not allow it charge the battery. Would you please check to ensure all the power connector pins are straight.
