I've just bought the HP G6 2219sa notebook, and whilst it came with Windows 8 installed I needed to downgrade it back to Windows 7 for compatibility with my environment (I am an applications developer).

Since doing this (Windows 7-64 bit Professional), the device managed is showing the following in the "Other Devices" with a yellow alert.

Ethernet Controller

PCI Device

SM Bus Controller

Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller

Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller

I have been to the support site, downloaded and installed the software and drivers that were found there, it is fully patched through Windows Update, and I have even tried right-clicking and selecting Update Driver, but nothing is found.

As a result, the two USB 3.0 ports are not working, but the single USB 2.0 port is.  The Ethernet is not working, but the built-in wireless is, and the card reader is not working.

Could someone assist in where I can get the necessary drivers as I need to get this notebook up and running as fast as I can.

Thanks in advance.

I've solved the USB 3.0 and HDMI issues, a program called Drive Magician found AMD Southbridge drivers that enabled the USB 3.0 and HDMI drivers which fixed the SM Bus Controller.
Now all I need to find is the card reader drivers and the ethernet drivers and I think it is all done and dusted.

Any help with these latter two would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Presario CQ62.  I am trying to install a game that I bought, onto my computer. When I put the game CD into the tray and close it, it  doesn 't do anything.  Is there a certain program I need to download? Or should there already be one on my computer? I have Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium. System X64-based pc. Thank-you.

This is not really a thread on installing games and I don't install many myself. You should be able to get the cd to run and install the game by double clicking on the CD/DVD drive.Open "Computer" by clicking the icon on your desktop screen or in the Start menu. Once it is open you will see the CD/DVD drive. If double clicking on the drive doesn't start the installer, try right clicking the drive and choosing Run or Autoplay from the popout menu.

Try a hard reset, works sometimes.Disconnect all external devices first.

1-remove power cord and battery

2-press power button for 30 seconds

3-reinstall only power cord for first startup.

4-power on
