 Hello

I want Disable Power on Authentication on Probook 470 G1 Windows 8 64 bit.

When i start Power on Authentication pops up- Hp Drive Encrypt Winmagic with 2 users that i created. I want to specify that in Hp Client Security Power on Authentication is disabled and HDD is not encrypted.

I spoke with Hp support and they told me a factory reset will not help and also gave me no solution to this.

If a change HDD to SSD will this disapear? Either ways i want to solve this.

Regards!

I don't have bitlocker since i am running windows 8 home(basic) not pro. My drive is NOT encrypted as it shows in attachaments .

Maybe is an option in Bios or i don't know this is getting really annoying. I tried to disable this since two weeks when i bought laptop. Hope somebody could help me.

In my first mail i attached 3 pictures where it shows that Power on Authentication is disabled...also Drive is not Encrypted.

Question: Lets say i forgot my password, my drive is not encrypted and i can't access windows will this mean that i have to throw my HDD?!?  I think it can be dissabled but i'm stuck to this................

Thank you for your responses but that does not solve the problem. I disabled Anti Teft and also drive lock from Bios. No changes...

is the HDD installed? or SSD?

The Security is UEFI based and HDD ID, please change the HDD back

Or made a clean install, delete all partitions incl. EFI
