I have just recently bought a HP 15-ac098TU laptop and installed Windows 8.1 x64.the wireless card is : BCM943142 1x1BGN+BT4.0 HMC wlan
Currently the device manager show me two possible drivers to use : - 1x1 11b/g/n Wireless LAN PCI Express Half Mini Card Adapter after installing driver it's shows Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter
The wireless AP is a TP-LINK Wireless Router MR3020. I sit relatively close to it and have only half signal.
That's my problem the signal strength of same wifi in different laptop is not same. One router is slightly far from my laptops. My first laptop(ACER) is showing full signal but My second laptop(HP) is showing no signals.
Please help me.

What came preinstalled on the HP 15-ac098TU laptop - Windows 7?
If that is true, where did you get the install media for Win8.1 for the laptop? Did you download it from the Internet (MS site)?
Asking, because the BEST way to get Win8.1 on that laptop is using the HP Recovery Media -- which will have the correct drivers and HP utilities needed.

Sir,
DOS was there when i purchased the laptop.
Windows 8.1 is original and the drivers are downloaded from HP driver site

please check and tell me what to do.
thanks for your concern and reply

If by "original", you mean a direct download from MS, then it should work OK -- as MS has changed their policies since Win7 to allow their ISO downloads to work on OEM machines.
As to the drivers, I have no way of knowing what actual network hardware you have in your machine. If you download and install an app known as Belarc Advisor and run it, it will produce a very detailed report, telling you specifically what hardware you have in your machine. With that, you will be able to determine which drivers apply.

I talk to help center and they gave me advice to download sp69929.exe which is latest driver for this wifi.
but I am unable to find the driver because where ever i found it the file 404 error found which is file not found.
So please if any one have then send it to me.
Thanks

Unfortunately, I went to the drivers page, clicked on the same driver link -- and also got the 404 error.
Sorry, I have no other link I can provide you.
