HP 15-g020ca says locking when first opening laptop

screen says "locking" and has that symbol spining for a good minute or 2 before the lock screen pops up. it started doing that a while ago not sure whats going on. the laptop used to go almost imediatly to the lock screen within a couple of seconds. has windows 8.1

Hi Markyp,

Here are a couple documents that might help.  I am not clear whether you are experiencing a problem with the laptop not waking from sleep (since it is when you first open the laptop), or a lock-up, which can happen at other times, too.  Hopefully suggestions in one of these two will help.  Please let me know.

its when waking up opening the lid the screen is blue and says "locking" and a swirling icon for about 1 minute or more then finally the lock screen comes up.

Sorry, I'm still a little unclear.  Is the lock screen the one you use to UNlock your computer?  If so, are you then able to enter your info and get it working or are you unable to use the computer at all because it keeps locking up?

here is a pic of what happens as soon as i open the laptop, this screen is there for about 1-2 minutes then the "lock  screen" appears and i can enter my password and everything works fine.

so I've found if I lock the computer first (win+L) before closing the lid , when I open it it opens normally almost instantly . it seems its not locking before it goes to sleep (when i close the lid)
