Hello HP Rep

I lady i know from the neighborhood knows that i am into computers and asked me to get rid of windows 8 for her.

She is an older lady, and has a hard time with understanding computers to begin with. Win8 is too difficult for someone with out a slight know how in the tech world.

I have gotten Win7 installed for her, but none of the drivers were installed.

The network adapter driver is not there, so i cannot connect to the internet to get the others.

I need to find the correct network drivers so that i can download win7 updates and all of the proper drivers for her computer.

Hardware IDs for the Ethernet controller are:

pci\ven_10EC&DEV_8136&SUBSYS_188B103C&REV_05

pci\ven_10EC&DEV_8136&SUBSYS_188B103C

pci\ven_10EC&DEV_8136&CC_020000

pci\ven_10EC&DEV_8136&CC_0200

Let me know if there is anymore info needed, and thank you for the help.

Hi:

You can use all of the W7 x64 drivers and software from the HP 2000z-2a00 on that one.

DO NOT USE ANY BIOS OR FIRMWARE FILES FROM THIS MODEL

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5275...

That model uses the Atheros wireless lan driver for the wireless card and the Realtek LAN driver for the hardware ID you posted.

You will also need the smbus controller driver which I have attached below.

Download and unzip the file.

Go to the device manager and click on the smbus controller needing drivers.  Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder that you unzipped.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.  Then reboot.

This is NOT official HP Customer Support and I, as most other persons on this forum, do not work for HP. This is a peer-to-peer user supported forum for HP consumer class products. When requesting assistance, please provide the complete model name and product number (p/n) of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq makes thousands of models of computers. Without this information it may be difficult or impossible to assist you in resolving your issue.

The above requested information can be found on the bottom of your computer, inside the battery compartment or on the startup BIOS screen. Please see How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number? for more assistance locating this information. DO NOT include your serial number. Please enter the model/product information into HP's Online Consumer Support page and post it here for our review.
